YouGarden Pair Of Hydrangea 'glam Rock' Plants
This incredible new Hydrangea variety will truly impress with its eye-catching, multi-coloured flower heads. This new take on the traditional mop-head hydrangea has incredibly vivid flower heads, made up of multiple individual florets. Each one is a jaw-dropping pink-red, with a bright blue centre, and tipped with lime green. These highly unusual plants will really stand out in a border or pot on your patio. Depending on the acidity of the soil they are planted in, the colours can vary, so why not plant them in different soils for vibrant and varied displays. They are beautiful but incredibly tough and fully UK winter hardy. Specifications Availability: March to September Planting time: February to November Flowering time: July to August Supplied as a pair of 9cm potted plants Height/Spread: 1m (3ft) in 3-5 years Fully winter hardy Top Tips To extend the seasonal interest leave some flower heads on the plants over winter where they look gorgeous covered with frost, and of course, they'll provide shelter for overwintering wildlife. Care Information Just plant in position, water well, and add some fertiliser - they'll burst into growth and flower profusely all summer. This plant is at its best in moist soil as long as it is well-drained, in the sun or partial shade. The more sun the plant gets, the better the flower colour. A moisture-loving plant, remember to water regularly and deeply. Hardy in the UK, frost can cause a lot of damage to young buds, reducing the number of flowers, so it's advisable to protect your plant with fleece if freezing weather is likely. Pruning is generally best carried out in early spring. A general tidy up is usually all that is needed and consists of removing the dead bloom from each stem, cutting back to the first strong, healthy pair of buds down from the faded flower. As Hydrangeas flower on the previous year's growth, cut out 1 or 2 of the oldest stems, in spring, at the base to encourage the production of new, replacement growth that will carry more flowers.
