In 1943, a family of architects in Denmark founded a lighting company whose trademark is hand-pleated lampshades. The special pleating technique still cannot be performed by machines, so each lampshade is still hand-pleated into its special shape by trained craftsmen, meaning that each individual lampshade is a unique product.

Traditional craftsmanship combined with modern production – the characteristics of the lights produced by the Danish lighting manufacturer Le Klint. In addition to the traditional pleated lampshades, which have been produced since the company was founded and which are still among the company’s best-selling products, the manufacturer’s portfolio also includes new creations with metal lampshades. The handmade plastic or paper-based pleated lampshades are still produced to this day in Odense on the Danish island of Funen. Ever since 1943 it has been possible to admire and purchase Le Klint’s lighting creations at their shop in Copenhagen.
